caramelized carrots and red onion
ingredients
15 - 20 carrots
1 red onion
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
3 tbsp red wine
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
6-8 sprigs of thyme
4 sage leaves
1 tsp salt
3 cloves garlic
step by step
Wash peel and cut the ends off your carrots then cut the carrot in half lengthwise and place them in a baking dish.
Cut a red onion in half then cut into 1/8” - 1/4” thick slices and add them to the baking dish as well.
Smash the fresh garlic, remove the skin and break up with your hands and throw it into the dish ( you can also roughly chop your garlic, either way works )
Add all other ingredients into the baking dish, give it a good mix and cover it with a lid or tin foil. Bake in the oven for 40-60 minutes.
The perfect addition to any savory meal, dig in and enjoy it while it’s hot! The onion might not be layered anymore, but the flavor certainly is!
