Why Vegan?
Believe it or not, my journey into the world of veggies started way back when I was just 11 years old. Riding the school bus home everyday we passed by many farms, one of which had this building that stood out to me. I asked one of the older students “what is that building for”? She preceded to tell me “that’s where the animals get killed”. At that moment my world was shook. My 11 year old brain fully combriented the fact that animals had to die for me to eat them.
Now some people will read that and think ‘ how dramatic of you’. But at this time I already had a deep passion and love for animals, every school project I did was about one animal or another and in that I also learned about the planet and the impacted us humans are having on it. Mind you I was a strong minded and sassy little girl, so this strong feeling became a true part of me and my development! I went home that afternoon righteous in my decision, proclaiming my new diet to my mom and thats how it started! It was a decision born out of compassion and a deep respect for our planet. Fast forward some years, and here I am, more than half my life deep into the plant-based lifestyle!

A Childhood of Culinary Curiosity
Now a decision to go plant based does not always come with a love for cooking, so heres how that started… It goes way back; Picture a little girl, home alone, concocting potions in the bathroom and whipping up creations in the backyard. That same sense of wonder and experimentation found its way into the kitchen, where I discovered the magic of turning simple ingredients into yummy meals I was excited to share with my family and friends.

Inspiration Everywhere
Traveling the world opened my eyes (and taste buds) to a kaleidoscope of flavours, ingredients, techniques and truly working with what I had. As a plant based person, it’s not always easy to travel and find the ‘usual’ ingredients From the bustling markets of Bangkok to camping in the mountains of Canada and relaxing in the cozy cafes of Spain, each destination left its mark on my palate and my cooking style.
